Whatever you do... Tip # 365 for being a youth pasters wife!!

This whole summer has been one of many adventures!! Currently I am experiencing one of those adventures in Athens, OH at a camp for a missions trip. Your tip for tonight is that as a youth pastors wife prepare your mind body an spirit for no sleep but memories for life!!!

Coming into this trip I expected it to be amazing and for God to work and he never fails to amaze me!!! I have seen so much out of this group and the week isn't even over yet!!!

We have had students bond in ways that I haven't seen in a group in a long time.. Prayer for ones who are sick and had to leave our adventure a little early and reach out to people in need in a way that brings joy to my heart!

Although this week has been full of amazing praises we have seen our set of small storms.. Such as students not feeling well and having to leave.. Cars that break down and scare us and watching our hearts break over the other storms in people's life. Through all these things good and not so good things we have found a joy that is unstoppable!!

We have seen what it means to step out of our comfort zone and mow a lawn whose house has never been mowed before.. Clean out a fridge that was told hasn't been cleaned in years and finding ways to keep children entertained for hours and hours. All these things have taught us that whatever we do wether this or that that we do it for the work of the Lord! Everything that was made invisible and visible was made for Him so the work that we do is for him.. The talking to people who we don't know is for Him .. The dancing and jumping and having to hear new four square rules made up every time someone doesn't want out with the little children is for Him.. He created it to have and be given pleasure in our world!!

This week I have learned a lot but three things really stood out to me in the week so far..

1. God doesn't waste our pain! He does everything for a reason and everything that go through he uses.. We're just not sure when..

2. We are a family! Having the night off on Wednesday and getting to spend it at a lake with our whole group I was asked by two ladies while our group was all playing together in the water if we were here for a family reunion i told her that yes we seem like a family but that we were simply here for a missions trip but then thought of the comment that was made.. We are a family and we were called to be in community and be one and soon we will have a family reunion when Christ returns for His bride!

3. When God calls us to be like Children throughout the bible I understand why.. Children are loving.. Caring.. At times selfless.. The care for those around them.. The will not think twice about who the person is or what is wrong with them but simply want to have them pick them up and love on them. God knew what he was talking about when he called us to be like children and I will strive for that..

So my question to you is will you have a child like spirit.. Will you be united with your family and create that bond that makes people wonder if your related and will you learn that God doesn't waste your pain!!

The week is coming to an end and a break is coming my way which I do get a little excited about but this week and it's lessons will be forever in my heart..

Until next time!!

Blessings!!

Here goes..

and it begins. Starting a blog is terrifying to me. Things come to mind for fears such as                     -I wont be good at this.                     - No one will care                      - I wont know what to talk about                       - I'll never update But on the other hand, I am so excited because I am able to express so many different things.. so...here goes.

Tip #45 on being a youth pastors wife..

so I was right..I wasn't going to be very good at updating but I have come to learn that it will be a random whenever i learn a lesson/good point kinda post type thing.. so tip #45: Know now that you will sometimes spend evenings alone while the hubby gets to go to movies, cool parties and awesome other events to take time to be with the youth.  for example.. tonight I am in class till 10p and I get a text at 9:51p asking if Joel could go to the movies with a youth to see a movie that I have been wanting to see for quiet sometime..Joel being the man that he is takes time to ask me but he knows im going to say yes to the oppurtunity so he is already on the way with him to the movie..so cute! but as I sit here all by myself I think to myself how truly blessed I am to have a husband that will take time out of his time off..his sleep..his relaxiation time to go out and be with a youth just to gain a better relationship with him.. so now i have realized that I need to quit school....

When its time to leave...

coming to the end of it all, i didnt think or even want to be the one to dwell on it but its happening as I sit in my last class of my undergraduate degree.. it's finally here... As I sit here and drive on campus, I get overwhelmed with thinking of everything God has done in my life here at Ohio Christian University! The Graduation of High School was the start of it all!  coming into school only knowing one person..she made it so much easier for me!  as time went on our group of friends began to grow and the memories began!!!! Student Life!   Falling In Love with My Best Friend! Celebrating Weddings!! and as it all comes to a close..i will remember..
