Tip # 15 on being a youth pastor's wife!

Fun fact of Joel and I: 

In the five years we have been together we have never rode on a plane together..weird...


but as for the tip...


You will always run into youth that know what they are doing in their relationship with Christ and have the right mind set of what it is all about..for example..


One afternoon we were just hanging out at the church just playing us some Settlers...


by the way our students love the game so far which makes me supper dupper excited!


any who.. we were just playing some games and when we got done a lot of them went off and went to do some worship practice but one youth stayed back. This youth usually stays to them self but today we just really connected..I left him for a little while and when I came back I saw the most amazing thing I have seen in a long time. 


He had taken the cross that we have in our room and laid it on the ground and then without anyone in the room with him he took his very own time and worshiped God by laying on this cross and just feeling that close to Jesus..


When I walked in I was shocked and also wondering what he was doing so I asked him and he kinda shyed off but I was persistent in asking him what was on his mind and he finally opened up and said I was laying on the cross 

because I wanted to be like Jesus..


When I heard those words tears filled my eyes because I knew that this youth had the right mindset.. His word tells us to pick up our cross daily (or lay it down for that matter) and be perfect like our Heavenly father is perfect..you might not agree with me and I could care less but I believe that this youth knew exactly what he wanted and that was to be like Jesus so he approached it the best way he knew how and that was the way that Jesus showed His love for us


by dying on the cross to bring us life so that we can have 
it abundantly and bring others to it..


this youth has brought me so much closer in my walk with God and I can't him enough for expressing his love for God in a way that brought tears to my eyes..


now my question to you is..how do you worship God..how do you let others see your light..are you shining it or just letting it be hidden under something..don't be afraid to shine your light for him because He knows what He is doing when he shines that light..

The biggest lie.. In my devotion time today, I was watching a video and the speaker had mentioned a verse from the Bible that really hit home for me.. Tip #15 for being a youth pastors wife

Well it's official.. Along with being a wife I have now become a mom.... Wow let me just sit here and let that soak in..it hasn't yet but I know that it will! I am a mom...someone that will claim me has his support and care giver until he is on his own.. a mom...   Arie Malachi Guinen   Born April 15, 2013 @ 11:45 pm!   7lbs, 5oz 20 inches long!!   This little boy has stolen my heart. He came into this world after 17 1/2 hours of the labor of love :) I was doing great and going through  the labor part of it when contractions had started, after my water had broke and after 12 long hours I gave in a took some pain medicine. Pain medicine that I will tell you I will never take again in my life. They need to change the name to " this will not help your pain at all but make you feel crazy and not remember a lot of what's going on in the room around you" medicine. As the medicine wore off, the nurses came in to tell me that I had stopped...

Tip #345 of being a youth pastors wife!

You will get your heart broken! Working in this high school everyday my heart breaks for these students. It's funny once your heart goes towards youth every time you see youth you tend to cling to them! Walking these halls and seeing their faces.. Their relationships.. Their desperate call for attention and their attitudes it kills me because I know they could have so much more! Being in high school isn't easy and I understand that but don't they know there is so much more! Everyday I go out of our classroom and join up with another classroom that one of my students goes to and I sit here and just watch these students.. I watch and see myself in these students and think about the things I did in high school and how I learned from it so much but wish I could just tell them there is so much more.. I hear their conversations and it makes me want to leave the room because I cant even think about the stuff their doing.. I see the way they act and I see the way they dot car...
